National Fishing Hall of Fame Wisconsin
Here’s a travel destination that may interest you in your summer vacation planning. It may not be a place that you can catch a trophy but the National Fishing Hall of Fame should be a fishing trip destination on everyone’s list. Admission is free and that’s the best value you’ll find anywhere.
The museum contains
- Inventory of over 5000 dated lures
- Hundres of antique reels and rods
- 300 antique and classic outboard motors
- 400 mounts of 200 species of fish
- Educational and instructional video theatre
But a favorite part of your trip will be…
The highlight of the museum complex is a landmark “Shrine to Anglers” which is a structure one-half city block long and four and one-half stories tall, of concrete, steel and fiberglass, hand-sculpted into the likeness of a leaping fish (Muskie). Its innards are a museum and its gaping open jaw accommodates about 20 persons or more as an observation platform. The landmark is surrounded by a quarter-acre nature pond.
If you are headed out to Wisconsin this summer, put Wisconsin’s National Fishing Hall of Fame on your to do list.
