Fishing for Liquor is Not Catch and Release
Talk about some trophy fishing…
A man has been arrested after allegedly fishing some bottles out of an Abbotsford, B.C., liquor store.
Police were called to a Liquor Barn just before 4 a.m. Monday by a security guard who spotted what he thought was a stick poking out of the ceiling tiles.
The stick had a wire attached, […]

Logic please? Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission proposes youth fishing license
Sometimes, I just don’t understand the logic of others. Here’s the deal. The PFBC has proposed a youth fishing license.
Here’s the logic being used by the PFBC. Youth aren’t getting into fishing. So, let’s now make them buy a license to fish.
Yes, they are only proposing a $5 cost but I can’t see how […]

New Pennsylvania White Perch Record
James Clark was fishing the Delaware River for a striped bass and he caught a big one. The fish weighed 1 pound 12 ounces. Not very big for a striped bass but huge for a white perch. In fact, it is a Pennsylvania record. Congratulations to James. Great catch!

A Break from Fishing This Weekend
I have no fishing report from this weekend. I needed a break. I haven’t felt like I’ve been fishing well. No, real big fish this year, and I have been trouble being in the zone when on the water. There are a lot of good excuses, but I decided that I should spend the weekend […]

Deer are Public Enemy #1 in Other States Too
Pennsylvania has seemingly made deer public enemy #1. Who’s responsible for destroying the forests? Deer. Who is the killer running around on PA’s highways? Deer. Who is making it so gardeners can’t feed their families with homegrown plants? Deer. Who is secretly conspiring to destroy all other life form and rule the world? Deer.
It […]

What got you into collecting antique fishing tackle?

First Day of Summer on Kaercher Creek Lake
I really don’t like summer. I’m fall/spring type person for so many reasons. I’m especially not a big fan of summer fishing. I’ll fish throughout the summer but fishing tends to be more difficult and crowds tend to be more abundant.
This was just the case on a morning trip to Kaercher Creek Lake near Hamburg […]

Limestone Springs Preserve - A fun couple of hours on Father’s Day
We decided to spend a couple of hours fishing Limestone Springs Preserve Pay to Catch trout area with my father-in-law and 3 of my children. I figured it would be a great way to guarantee that everyone would catch a few within the attention span of my 2 1/2 year old.
While I overestimated his attention […]

Cabelas versus Bass Pro Shops Aquarium
I really like my trips to the Bass Pro Shops in Harrisburg, but I have to say that the Cabelas in Hamburg has a far better aquarium. Here are a few details about the Cabelas aquarium.
Good for PFBC
